Ilana Hoffer Skoff, Executive Director and Co-founder of Milestones, knows that where there’s a will, there’s a way. Determined to bring autism training, resources, and services to Northeast Ohio, she started Milestones in 2003. Wanting each and every child to reach his or her milestones, Ilana has coached and inspired families over the last ten years providing practical strategies and innovative programming. Prior to founding Milestones, Ilana consulted with non-profits in the areas of development, strategic planning, and grant writing.

Mia Buchwald Gelles, Director of Operations and Co-founder of Milestones, makes sure everything runs smoothly at Milestones. Mia’s expertise in non-profit management and project planning are a big reason why a small staff can serve more than 1,500 individuals a year.  And for those of you who frequent Milestones website, you can thank Mia for her hard work and savvy technical skills. For more than 20 years, Mia provided lead program management and data solutions for non-profits and governmental agencies.

Education Project Manager Leslie Rotsky has 20 years of experience as a teacher and curriculum developer. Leslie pours her passion for autism into trainings for parents and professionals in effective behavioral interventions and best practices. Raising two young children, one of whom has autism, is her biggest accomplishment to date.
Maya Holtz Groys

Maya Holtz Groys has dedicated her career to working in the non-profit world and has spent the past 15 years focusing on grant writing and development. As Milestones Development Director, Maya heads up fundraising efforts including special projects, annual fund, sponsorships, individual donations and Milestones endowment campaign. Always quick with a “thank you,” Maya acknowledges all supporters and their important contributions to the local autism community.
Beth Thompson, MSSA
Teen/Adult Services Manager

On the forefront of transition and adult services, Beth Thompson is Milestones Teen/Adult Services Manager. Beth has a Master’s degree coupled with extensive hands-on experience working with high school students with autism. Whether students are college or career bound, Beth is instrumental in helping teens successfully transition to adulthood.

Tara is thrilled to be handling marketing/communication efforts, conference/special event logistics, volunteer coordinating and community outreach for Milestones. Having spent the past 10 years working in the field of marketing and events with area non-profits, as well as for-profits, no project is too big or too small for Tara’s talents. New to the field of autism, Tara is learning something every day.

Nicole supports the Milestones development team and provides administrative support. She is new to Milestones and the non-profit world, but looks forward to helping the local autism community.  Her previous areas of study and experience include Modern Languages, Education, and technical writing. She has also been an aide in a program for children with communication disorders for several years.

Debbie Santagata Hoberman brings her energy and experience in business development, marketing, and product management to her role as Milestones Development Coordinator. She is always ready and willing to put the fun into fundraising. Debbie also lends a hand with sponsorships, volunteer development, and continued development activity that supports Milestones mission and growth.
